Executive Summary
Q2 2022
Welcome to the third edition of our Global Category Intelligence (formerly Global Procurement Intelligence Report). Our latest publication continues to offer our perspective on several industry-recognized spend categories, and deeper sub commodities, and areas of regulation we believe our partnership network will find valuable and insightful. The need for meaningful intelligence, and an “outside in” perspective, has never been greater and we are confident our quarterly publication will become key reference material in helping our partners navigate the Goods and Services markets.
There are many subjects worthy of discussion out there but clearly one has unfortunately become the preeminent topic for all of us. The world changed irrevocably on February 24 when Russia took the decision to invade Ukraine. As you will see in this edition very few categories are insulated from the impacts of this conflict, either directly or indirectly, at some level in a connected supply chain. Clearly, this is a developing situation and, from an Indirect Goods and Services perspective, one we will continue to monitor, and I expect will feature heavily in coming editions.
This edition covers a multitude of topics including our perspective on the Energy and Real Estate markets, the widely discussed area of “Tail Spend Management” as well as the staple categories our customers would always expect to see. Also, as you will already appreciate by now you are consuming the content digitally. Our Marketing teams have worked hard to bring the user experience to a level that any of our customers should expect of us. We will of course continue to develop the content and solutions roadmap to enrich your experience as much as possible.
I hope you enjoy this edition and look forward to speaking to you all soon. Please forward any feedback or questions you may have to me directly.
Many thanks.
